Jaya Ahsan’s 'Hues of Longing' Selected for 13th London Fashion Film Festival 2026
Acclaimed Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan’s poetic fashion film Hues of Longing has achieved a major international milestone by securing an Official Selection at the prestigious 13th London Fashion Film Festival (LFFF) 2026. The film, written and directed by filmmaker duo Randeep Bhattacharya and Yudhajit Bagchi, is produced by their National Award-winning Mumbai-based banner, Yaanus Films. The festival is set to take place on September 23 at Vue West End in Leicester Square, London.
Inspired by French poet and playwright Jean Cocteau’s legendary monodrama The Human Voice, the film explores the interior world of love, loss, memory, and longing. Over the decades, iconic actresses like Ingrid Bergman, Sophia Loren, and Tilda Swinton have embodied Cocteau’s solitary female protagonist. In Hues of Longing, Jaya Ahsan joins this cinematic legacy, playing a woman navigating the emotional spaces between desire, silence, and acceptance. Built around the premise "In longing, love finds its truest form," the short feature acts as a visual poem where Jaya’s understated yet powerful performance anchors the entire narrative, complemented by styling from Kolkata-based stylist Rishav.
Over the past twelve years, LFFF has established itself as a premier global platform where independent filmmakers share the stage alongside cinema created for world-renowned luxury brands like Dior, Gucci, Vogue, Tom Ford, and Prada. Hues of Longing’s selection marks a significant step on the international stage, celebrating a creative collaboration rooted in the historic heritage of Serampore along the Hooghly River.
